Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat is witnessing a notable presence today, Wednesday, of the former French star Zinedine Zidane, who is watching the match between the Algerian national team and their Sudanese counterpart from the stands, as part of the first round of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Zidane attended the match with members of his family, where he was seen in the honorary platform of the stadium, in a move that reflects his support and encouragement for his son Luca Zidane, the goalkeeper of the Algerian national team, who chose to defend the colors of the "Desert Warriors" during this continental competition. The match witnessed a strong start from the Algerian national team, which opened the scoring early through its captain Riyad Mahrez in the second minute, giving his country's team the advantage from the first minutes of the match. The Algerians were able to impose their control over the course of the first half, especially after the Sudanese national team was forced to complete the match with ten players after one of its members was sent off in the 39th minute.
