Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, confirmed that the match against Mali, which ended in a 1-1 draw, was strong and fast-paced, stressing that the "Atlas Lions" performed well and created numerous opportunities to win the match, but the lack of efficiency prevented victory.
Regragui explained that this type of match does not offer many opportunities, which necessitates better utilization of them, highlighting, in return, the solidity of the Moroccan national team and its control of the game during important periods, despite Mali's comeback in the second half after a penalty kick. The coach of the "Lions" considered that the draw remains a positive result and a useful test for the group, calling for turning the page and focusing on the next match, especially after the winning streak stopped at 19 wins. With this result, the Moroccan national team continued to top Group A with 4 points, ahead of Mali and Zambia by two points each, while the Comoros national team is at the bottom of the ranking with one point, leaving the qualifying ticket open before the last round.
