The match between the Ugandan national team and the Tanzanian national team ended in a 1-1 positive draw, on Saturday evening, on the grounds of the city stadium in Rabat, for the second round of the group stage of Group C, within the competitions of the 2025 African Cup of Nations held in Morocco.
The first half witnessed a scarcity of scoring opportunities from both sides, ending without goals, in light of the absence of offensive efficiency and a lack of focus in the last third of the field. Tanzanian team opened the scoring through player Simon Msuva in the 59th minute from a penalty kick, before the Ugandan team succeeded in equalizing the score in the 80th minute by Ochi Ikwiazo, returning the match to a draw point. In the last minutes of the match, the Ugandan team got a penalty in the 90th minute, but Allan Okello failed to translate it into a goal, and the match ended in a positive draw. With this result, the two teams earned their first point in Group C, where the Tanzanian team occupies third place with a goal difference, while the Ugandan team is at the bottom of the table in fourth place, leaving the qualification calculations open before the last round.
