The total water imports recorded since September 1, 2025, in various water basins in the Kingdom reached 1770 million cubic meters.
The news website "Al Maa Dialna" of the Ministry of Equipment and Water explained that these figures reflect the volume of important water resources received by the water basins during the current season. It added that "since December 12, 2025, water imports of 1348 million cubic meters were recorded, which represents about 76 percent of the total imports recorded since the beginning of the season," noting that "this figure highlights the large concentration of water imports during this short period of time compared to the rest of the season." In contrast, the news website adds, quantities of water discharged into the sea have been recorded since December 12, 2025, with the total volume of discharged water reaching 80.2 million cubic meters, representing only 5.9 percent of the total water received by the dams, explaining that these quantities were distributed across a number of water basins in varying proportions. The Sebou basin recorded the highest volume of water discharged into the sea during this period, with a total of 29.1 million cubic meters, followed by the Oum Er-Rbia basin with 26.5 million cubic meters. The quantities discharged in the Loukkos basin reached 9.7 million cubic meters, and in the Tensift basin 7.5 million cubic meters. As for the other basins, the Souss-Massa basin recorded 3.5 million cubic meters of water discharged into the sea, while this volume reached 3 million cubic meters in the Bouregreg basin, and 0.9 million cubic meters in the Moulouya basin. The same source concluded that this data clarifies the weak volume of water discharged into the sea during the mentioned period.
