The celebratory atmosphere witnessed in the city of Oujda last night, following the end of the national team's match, turned into a real tragedy, after a horrific traffic accident occurred on "Border Road," resulting in significant human and material losses.
According to eyewitnesses and data from the scene, the accident resulted from a violent collision between a large-sized motorcycle and a light car. The force of the impact was so severe that it turned the motorcycle into a pile of iron, causing a state of shock and terror among the passersby who were celebrating in the city streets.
Initial reports indicate the registration of one death among the passenger of the motorcycle (a young girl), who passed away due to her serious injuries, while the driver was transferred in a critical condition to the emergency room of the University Hospital Center in Oujda to receive the necessary treatment.
Upon learning of the incident, elements of the National Security and Civil Protection arrived at the scene, where traffic flow was secured in the area, which usually witnesses a large crowd on such occasions, and a judicial investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to determine responsibilities and uncover the real circumstances and details of the accident, while the body of the victim was transferred to the morgue.
