King Mohammed VI praised the interventions of the army elements to address the repercussions of the floods witnessed in the northern and western regions of the Kingdom.
His Majesty said in the daily order addressed to the Royal Armed Forces, on the occasion of its seventieth anniversary: "Your immediate and proactive field interventions in confronting the floods that affected the west and north of the Kingdom, alongside the civil, territorial authorities and relevant public institutions, contributed to the rescue and evacuation of the affected people while securing their needs for shelter, food, medical care and protecting their property."
He added: "Here, it is necessary to commend the effective and pivotal role played by the Royal Armed Forces since its establishment, in securing and protecting our land, sea and air borders, as well as its involvement, by order of His Majesty, in contributing to rescue and relief operations and providing first aid and assistance to the affected population, whenever necessary."
In this context, His Majesty adds, we are pleased to commend this Moroccan humanitarian epic, in which efforts were combined between the central and territorial administration and civil society, in the proactive activation of rescue and relief operations, in which units of the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, National Security, Auxiliary Forces and Civil Protection participated, in a well-planned and coordinated manner to evacuate the residents of the city of Ksar El Kebir and many villages in the Gharb region who were surrounded by floods, while sheltering them and providing them with the necessary assistance.
We also appreciate the great works carried out by the medical and paramedical staff working in the field military hospitals and the units of the military supply service, which we ordered to be deployed in some remote and mountainous areas in the provinces of Azilal, Al Haouz, and Midelt, following the complications of climate fluctuations; which had a positive impact on the souls of our loyal subjects.
In parallel with these efforts, it is necessary to emphasize the distinguished results of military service, which plays a major role in strengthening the spirit of citizenship and belonging to the homeland while consolidating the values of solidarity, cooperation, discipline and responsibility among our Moroccan youth. In this regard, we have worked to adopt an integrated approach that is based on modernizing teaching, framing and qualification methods, while strengthening partnerships with administrations and public institutions, in order to develop the necessary skills for recruits in new technical specializations that are in line with the current professional needs of our country and its expectations in the fields of vocational training and employment.
