HIBAPRESS
Actor Ahmed El-Sakka announced today, Friday, his permanent retirement from social media via a post on his official Facebook page, after a wave of widespread criticism targeted his recent statements and videos.
His message read: "God is sufficient for me, and He is the best Disposer of affairs, against everyone who mocked and belittled me… Goodbye to social media." The reason for the decision goes back to a wide controversy sparked by El-Sakka's video supporting the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, and his statements about the late actor Suleiman Eid, where the criticisms focused on some linguistic and stylistic terms, in addition to some people's misinterpretation of his words, which affected him and his family psychologically and prompted him to take the step of completely distancing himself from digital platforms. El-Sakka's statements clarified that the aim of his posts was to support his colleagues and protect positive values, without intending to interfere in the specialties of others, stressing that he decided to withdraw to preserve his mental health and the balance of his life, while a number of followers expressed their displeasure at the decision, calling on him to return and interact again with his audience.
