HIBAPRESS reported that the General Directorate of Meteorology expects heavy rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, strong wind gusts, and snowfall from today, Saturday, to the day after tomorrow, Monday, in a number of regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate clarified, in a warning bulletin of "red" alert level, that heavy rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms (80 to 100 mm), is expected in the prefectures and provinces of Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, Taroudant, and Essaouira, from today, Saturday, at 1:00 PM to tomorrow, Sunday, at 6:00 PM. The Directorate indicated, in a warning bulletin of "orange" alert level, that the same phenomenon is expected (35 to 55 mm) in the prefectures and provinces of Safi, Chichaoua, Sidi Bennour, Khénifra, Youssoufia, Tiznit, Al Haouz, Khouribga, Settat, Azilal, Beni Mellal, and El Jadida, and (20 to 30 mm) in the prefectures and provinces of Rabat, Salé, Khemisset, Nouaceur, Mohammedia, Mediouna, Casablanca, Rehamna, Kalaat Sraghna, Marrakech, Berrechid, Fqih Ben Salah, Temara-Skhirat, Ben Slimane, and Kenitra, from today, Saturday, at 1:00 PM to tomorrow, Sunday, at noon. The same phenomenon (50 to 80 mm) will affect the prefectures and provinces of Tangier-Assilah, M'diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Chefchaouen, Taounate, and Al Hoceima, starting tomorrow, Sunday, at 3:00 AM until noon the day after tomorrow, Monday. The Directorate added, in a warning bulletin of "orange" alert level, that strong wind gusts (70 to 85 km/h) are expected in Safrou, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Fahs – Anjra, Larache, Tangier-Assilah, Tetouan, Ouarzazate, Kenitra, M'diq-Fnideq, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Rehamna, Youssoufia, Essaouira, Nouaceur, Rabat, Salé, Temara-Skhirat, Ben Slimane, Berrechid, Safi, Sidi Bennour, Marrakech, Casablanca, Figuig, Chichaoua, El Jadida, Mohammedia, Kalaat Sraghna, Settat, Midelt, Jerada, and Mediouna, starting today, Saturday, at 1:00 PM until noon tomorrow, Sunday. In addition, the Directorate announced in an "orange" alert level warning bulletin that the prefectures and provinces of Midelt, Tinghir, Azilal, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Taroudant, and Chichaoua are expected to experience snowfall starting at 2000 meters (20 to 50 cm), starting today, Saturday, at 1:00 PM until the day after tomorrow, Monday, at 11:00 PM.
