The National Council of the National Rally of Independents Party held its ordinary session in Rabat on January 10, 2026, in an organizational and political stop dedicated to evaluating party and government performance, and discussing current national and international issues, in accordance with the provisions of the basic and internal regulations of the party.
The Council opened its work with a political report presented by the party leader Aziz Akhannouch, in which he addressed developments in the political, economic, and social situation in the Kingdom, in addition to organizational aspects, presenting a summary of the party and government work during the past year, and reviewing the requirements of the next stage in light of continuing to implement the commitments of the government program, and engaging in the reform and development projects that the country is experiencing under the royal leadership.
During the session's work, the National Council approved the annual accounts for the year 2025 after presenting the report of the party's financial control committee, and it also approved the draft budget for the year 2026, in the context of its emphasis on consolidating the principles of governance and transparency in financial and organizational management.
On the political level, the Council expressed its pride in the royal leadership and Moroccan diplomacy, praising the recent decision of the Security Council supporting the autonomy initiative in the Moroccan Sahara, and affirming the party's involvement in supporting this approach and strengthening national consensus. It also called on the international community to guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people and protect civilians and deliver humanitarian aid without obstacles.
The National Council praised the government's efforts related to managing the water issue, especially in light of the recent rainfall, noting the programs related to securing the supply of drinking water and irrigation water, linking water basins, and desalinating seawater. It also renewed its pride in the party's leadership of the current government experience, considering it an experience based on political harmony and taking responsibility, and affirming its continued commitment to implementing the social project and reducing spatial disparities.
The Council affirmed the importance of the upcoming electoral entitlements as an entry point to enhance confidence in institutions and renew elites, with a call for responsible political practice that protects the democratic path and serves the public interest. It also praised the organizational dynamism that the party is experiencing, and the communication tours that it organized in various regions of the Kingdom, considering them a mechanism to strengthen proximity to citizens and value the government's work record.
The National Council concluded its work by renewing the commitment of the National Rally of Independents Party to continue reforms, strengthen social justice, and strengthen economic sovereignty, affirming its continued responsible involvement in serving a Morocco of stability and development under the royal leadership.
