HIBAPRESS – A. Mohayawi
The local authorities in the city of Kenitra began, this Saturday morning, January 10th, a large-scale field campaign to free the public domain on 159th Street, and to end the manifestations of chaos in the area known as "Formaja" in the Bir Anzaran square, which for years was classified as a black spot due to the occupation of sidewalks and the disfigurement of public space.
This operation witnessed field supervision by local authority officials from a number of administrative annexes, in addition to a comprehensive mobilization of the various concerned interests, within the framework of a tight coordination aimed at enforcing respect for the law and restoring order to the public space.
The campaign included the removal of random carts belonging to street vendors that were illegally exploiting 159th Street, in addition to freeing the public domain from the occupation of some kiosks in Bir Anzaran square, after temporary organizations turned into a permanent exploitation of public space.
Elements of the national security and auxiliary forces participated in this operation, along with the authority's agents, with logistical support from the Kenitra community, represented in the use of mechanisms, a bulldozer and trucks to transport the seized items, which included carts, wooden boxes and various panels.
The campaign started at ten o'clock in the morning, and is still ongoing until the street is completely cleaned and reorganized, especially since this road axis is expected to form a vital artery for urban transport buses "Vogal", as well as to facilitate the passage of ambulances heading to the Bir Anzaran shelter without obstruction.
The operation also resulted in the monitoring of chaos inside some kiosks, and the removal of "Tairasat" that illegally altered the features of the ground, amid great security alert to secure the various stages of the intervention.
This campaign comes within the framework of strict instructions from the governor of Kenitra province, who continues to implement a firm approach to liberate the public domain and combat the manifestations of chaos, on the path of the experience that was previously adopted in the Ifrane region, where it showed positive results in organizing public space and restoring the aesthetics of cities.
These interventions fall within a comprehensive policy aimed at restoring the prestige of the public domain, improving the urban scene, and ensuring the safety of the residents and road users, while emphasizing that similar campaigns will continue in the various neighborhoods of the city without any leniency or exception.
