The Moroccan national team will face its Nigerian counterpart on Wednesday evening in the semi-finals of the 2025 African Cup of Nations, in the sixth match between the two teams in the history of the continental tournament.
Statistics show that the previous five matches in the "CAN" all ended with a victory for one of the two sides without any draws. Tomorrow's match will also be the first between them in the tournament in 22 years, and the second in the semi-finals. The first of their matches dates back to the 1976 edition, where Morocco won two matches in the group stage (3-1) and (2-1), on their way to winning the title, while Nigeria settled the 1980 semi-final match with a single goal, on its way to its first title. In the 2000 and 2004 editions, the two teams exchanged victories, with Nigeria winning (2-0) in the group stage in 2000, while Morocco achieved a (1-0) victory in the 2004 edition. The match will be held at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, starting at nine o'clock in the evening.
