On the sidelines of the match between the Egyptian national team and its Senegalese counterpart, hosted by the city of Tangier for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations, the bride of the north stole the spotlight outside the green rectangle, after it aroused widespread admiration among the Egyptian media and social media users.
A number of Egyptian channels, newspapers, and pages praised the beauty of the city of Tangier, the quality of its infrastructure, and the development of its urban facilities, considering that the city reflects a bright image of modern Morocco. The admiration reached the point of describing Tangier by some Egyptian followers as "the most beautiful city in Africa," in an explicit expression of the extent of astonishment and amazement. This positive interaction reaffirmed the advanced position that Tangier has come to occupy as a global sports and tourist destination, thanks to the major investments it has witnessed in the fields of transportation, urban planning, and sports infrastructure, which made it a model for Moroccan cities that were able to combine originality and modernization, and a respectable front for the Kingdom in continental and international forums.
