The seventeenth session of the Paris Paralympic Games begins on Wednesday, August 28 and runs from August 28 to September 8.
This tournament includes the participation of 4,400 players from most countries of the world, competing for medals in 22 official matches included in the Paralympic ranking.
The medals of this tournament are distinguished by the fact that they contain a piece of the original iron from the Eiffel Tower, similar to the Olympic Games.
The medals are also designed to be easy to read by touch and include engravings and Braille writing, in cooperation with French jewelry company Chaumet, to link the sport to local cultural heritage.
In addition to the medals, athletes with special needs will be entitled to receive a commemorative postcard of the world-famous monuments of the French capital: the Pont Alexandre III (triathlon), the Grand Palais (wheelchair fencing and para-taekwondo), and the Stade de la Tour Eiffel (football for the blind). Then Les Invalides (archery for people with special needs), Roland Garros (wheelchair tennis) and Versailles (horse riding).
