The "Morocco, Kingdom of Flavors" pavilion was inaugurated today, Friday, as part of the Kingdom's participation in the 90th session of the International Green Week in Berlin, which this year celebrates its centenary.
The opening of the pavilion, which highlights the richness of expertise and the diversity of the Kingdom's territorial areas, was overseen by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Ahmed Elbouari, in the presence of the German Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity, Alois Rainer. The opening ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Moroccan Embassy in Germany, along with institutional officials and professionals in the agricultural sector, especially the Morroco Foodex Foundation, the Agricultural Development Agency, the National Office for Agricultural Consultation, and the National Institute of Agricultural Research. Morocco is participating, for the eleventh consecutive year, in this prominent global event, with one of the largest national pavilions, in a demonstration that is considered a global forum for agriculture. The Moroccan pavilion extends over an area of approximately 650 square meters, and includes 20 cooperatives representing the twelve regions of the Kingdom, with the aim of promoting the flavors of national territorial products to exhibition visitors from professionals and the international public. In a press statement, the Director General of the Morroco Foodex Foundation, Ghita Ghorfi, praised “Morocco’s regular participation in this important event, which is one of the most prominent European and international exhibitions aimed at the public.” She explained that the Moroccan products on display, especially argan oil, olive oil and saffron, “attract great interest from foreign customers, which reflects their quality and the ancient civilizational heritage that distinguishes the history of Morocco.” Following the opening ceremony, Mr. Elbouari toured the various corridors of the Moroccan pavilion, which offers visitors an immersive experience in the heart of Moroccan cuisine, combining ancient traditions, authentic flavors and inherited expertise. The Moroccan participation, which is organized under the slogan of excellence, falls within the framework of highlighting the quality and valorization of territorial products, which meet the highest international standards in terms of quality, health safety and traceability, while highlighting the continuous efforts made by Moroccan cooperatives. The International Green Week in Berlin, which was established in 1926, is one of the oldest international exhibitions dedicated to agriculture and food. The 2026 session is organized under the slogan “100 Years of Green Week: Where History Meets the Future”. This event, which extends over ten days, brings together about 1,600 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, who display their products, innovations and recent trends in the sector. It also constitutes a space for discussion on major current issues, such as climate protection, the circular economy, the conservation of natural resources, and the sustainable use of land. The International Green Week in Berlin also constitutes the launching point for the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture, which is the most prominent international conference dedicated to envisioning the future of the agricultural and food sectors, and which is being held this year under the slogan “Water. Crops. Our Future”.
