HIBAPRESS
Yesterday, Friday, a partnership agreement was signed between a number of institutional partners for the creation of the integrated industrial zone of Mediouna, with a total investment of approximately 1.2 billion dirhams.
This agreement was signed between the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion Group and its subsidiary MEDZ, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, which owns the real estate through the Hassan II Mosque Foundation in Casablanca, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Casablanca-Settat region, the Mediouna province, and the Urban Agency of Casablanca.
This project, which will be implemented in the Sidi Hajjaj Oued Hassar commune on a strategic real estate area of approximately 140 hectares, concerns the creation of about 13,000 jobs in the medium term, and will be implemented in two phases, the first extending from 2026 to 2028, and the second from 2028 to 2030.
This project falls within the framework of the High Royal Directives aimed at strengthening territorial attractiveness, which consolidates integrated territorial development and enhances national competitiveness.
In this context, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, affirmed that this project falls within the framework of strengthening the industrial attractiveness of the Mediouna province, which has great potential and needs to create new job opportunities.
For his part, the General Manager of MEDZ, a subsidiary of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion Group, Marouane Abdelaati, explained that the goal is to enhance a significant real estate asset in the Mediouna province, in partnership with various stakeholders, in order to create an integrated industrial zone that includes prepared industrial lands.
He added that this project will have multiple positive repercussions on small and medium-sized enterprises in the Casablanca-Settat region.
The integrated industrial zone project in Mediouna is a structured project with two dimensions, as it aims, on the one hand, to contribute to the integrated development of the territorial area through a valuable offer capable of quickly responding to major territorial constraints, and on the other hand, to the sustainable valorization of endowment capital, especially through the provision of permanent financial resources allocated to the maintenance of the Hassan II Mosque.
The selection of the project's real estate area highlights its great potential, given its ideal connection to the highway network, which ensures the suitability of access to the nature of the project, as it is about ten minutes away from the A1 highway, with direct access to the new highway leading to Mohammed V International Airport.
It is also characterized by its close proximity to urban clusters that constitute important spaces for employment, in addition to its location in the heart of a strategic industrial corridor in the Greater Casablanca area (Mohammedia – Nouaceur – Ouled Saleh), which is experiencing strong dynamism.
The signing ceremony of this agreement was attended, in particular, by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mohamed Mhidia, the Governor of the Mediouna province, Ali Salem Chekaf, the President of the Casablanca-Settat region, Abdellatif Maazouz, the General Manager of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion Group, Khalid Safir, the Director of the Urban Agency of Casablanca, Toufiq Benali, and the curator of the Hassan II Mosque Foundation, Majed Kaysar Ghaib.
