HIBAPRESS – Barcelona: Omar Razzini
The city of Barcelona witnessed today the organization of a distinguished cultural event hosted by the Grand Hyatt Barcelona hotel, at the initiative of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Barcelona, with a significant presence of civil society figures and members of the Moroccan community residing in the city.
This meeting comes within the framework of celebrating the new Amazigh year 2976, as part of a cultural program that aims to highlight the richness and diversity of the Moroccan identity components, and to enhance the values of coexistence and belonging among Moroccans in the diaspora. The event saw a remarkable interaction from the attendees, who responded to the invitation to participate in this occasion of symbolic and historical significance. The program included a lecture delivered by Professor Idriss Al-Kharrouf, in which he addressed the topic of “Cultural Diversity in the Service of Citizenship,” shedding light on the importance of the Moroccan cultural heritage, foremost of which is the Amazigh component, as a lever to enhance the values of citizenship and openness within society, both within the country and among the diaspora abroad.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to renew the ties between members of the Moroccan community and their representative institutions, and to emphasize the role of culture in strengthening the bridges of communication and preserving national identity in the context of immigration. A number of participants expressed their satisfaction with such initiatives that consolidate pride in belonging and open spaces for discussion and constructive dialogue. This event confirms, once again, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Barcelona's keenness to keep pace with the expectations of the community, and to support cultural and intellectual activities that contribute to highlighting the image of Morocco with its cultural diversity within Spanish society, reflecting the depth of Moroccan civilization and its ability to interact positively with its international environment, and enhancing the values of coexistence and dialogue between cultures, and establishing the presence of the Moroccan community as a cultural and civil actor that contributes to enriching the social fabric of the host country.
