Celebrated Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani passed away at his home in Rome at the age of 93, leaving behind a global legacy in the world of haute couture.
The Valentino Foundation announced via a statement on social media platforms that Garavani was not just a guide and a constant source of inspiration, but also a beacon of creativity and artistic vision throughout his career. The body of the deceased is expected to lie in repose at the foundation's headquarters in Rome on Wednesday and Thursday, in an official farewell atmosphere preceding the funeral ceremony. The funeral of Valentino Garavani will take place on Friday from the Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri church in the Piazza della Repubblica in the heart of the Italian capital. Valentino Garavani's elegant designs, associated with the Valentino Red brand, remained strongly present in global fashion shows for nearly half a century and contributed to establishing his name as one of the most prominent international fashion icons.
