HIBAPRESS
The national security elements, in coordination with the customs services operating at the Casablanca sea port, managed, on the afternoon of Monday, January 19th, to thwart an attempt to smuggle 818 kilograms of hashish, which was loaded on a container for transporting goods pulled by a truck bearing national license plates.
The border control and inspection operations resulted in the seizure of the smuggled quantities of drugs, consisting of 31 packages prepared for international smuggling, carefully hidden within the iron structure of the container, and the investigation procedures also enabled the arrest of the truck driver, who is a Moroccan citizen, aged 33 years.
The suspect has been subjected to a judicial investigation conducted by the provincial department of the judicial police in Casablanca, under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, in order to uncover all those involved in this case, as well as to identify the rest of the assumed extensions nationally and internationally for this criminal activity.
This case falls within the context of the intensive and continuous security operations carried out by various security services, with the aim of combating the international smuggling of drugs and psychotropic substances.
