HIBAPRESS – Sports
A Moroccan media personality at the Qatari network "beIN SPORTS", Amin Sebti, said that the reactions that followed the loss in the final match of the African Cup of Nations revealed something deeper than mere sporting disappointment, explaining that he received a large number of messages from followers who confirmed that what pained them was not the loss of the title as much as what appeared afterwards of "narrowness of souls" towards Morocco's success.
The media personality added that a segment of people does not accept success because they have never experienced it, pointing out that those who are unable to rejoice in successive achievements, and in stadiums being built, infrastructure being consolidated, roads being opened, hotels being established, and green spaces being created, only reflect an inner constriction towards everything that symbolizes progress and prosperity.
He clarified that progress, for these people, does not represent a source of pride, but rather turns into a source of annoyance, and that achievement becomes, in their view, a condemnation, while light is seen as a provocation, which explains, in his words, the continuation of the noise accompanying every milestone of success achieved by Morocco.
The Moroccan media personality concluded his post by emphasizing that the controversy was never related to the result of a match or a sporting title, stressing that even if Morocco had won the cup, this noise would not have subsided, because the essence of the matter relates to an existing success that confuses those who are not accustomed to living in an environment of achievement and cannot accept its presence.
