The Ethics Committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has taken disciplinary measures against the president of the Maghreb de Tanger club, Khalid Bentahher, which included suspending him for six months, half of which is suspended, along with imposing a financial fine of ten thousand dirhams, due to what was considered a breach of sports conduct rules.
According to official data, this penalty came against the backdrop of a post published by the club president via his social media account, which included direct accusations against the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima regional league, which the Ethics Committee saw as an infringement on an official football institution and a violation of the adopted organizational controls. In a parallel decision, the committee issued an official warning to the Association of Anwar Sidi Bennour, accompanied by a financial fine of 20,000 dirhams, due to digital content it published on its official page that was considered to be damaging to the reputation of the Ittihad Soualem Sports Association. These steps, according to the Federation, fall within a trend aimed at imposing discipline and protecting the image of football institutions from any offense or disruption, especially in light of the escalating controversy across social media platforms. These developments shed new light on the responsibility of sports actors in how they deal with disputes and express their positions, at a time when the Federation affirms its adherence to the need to respect the ethics of speech and resort to official channels to address conflicts within the national football scene.
