The administration of Wydad Athletic Club has finalized its contract with French coach Patrice Carteron to lead the technical staff of the first team, succeeding coach Amine Benhachem, following the team's elimination from the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup against Olympique de Safi.
Carteron's selection came after the management board was convinced of his extensive experience in African and Arab stadiums, and his ability to manage the current phase that the Red team is going through, especially after a period of fluctuating results. The French coach has previously had several prominent coaching experiences, including leading the Congolese Mazembe and the Egyptian Al Ahly clubs, in addition to his experience in the professional league with Raja Casablanca, he also supervised the training of the Egyptian Zamalek, and had other experiences in the Gulf with Al-Taawoun and Al-Ettifaq. Wydad's administration is betting on the African experience that Carteron has accumulated in order to restore balance to the team and correct its path, with the aim of quickly returning to the path of victories and satisfying the ambitions of the club's fans.
