Charafeddine Dinar Belabbes, a sports director of Moroccan origin active in Catalonia, confirmed that the brilliant organizational success of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations embodies the highest expression of the sports policy that Morocco has engaged in, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and is a success for all of Africa.
Belabbes explained, in a statement to the Moroccan News Agency, that this great continental football celebration reflects the validity of the insightful royal vision calling for the consolidation of African brotherhood, and at the same time translates the constant commitment of His Majesty the King for the development and radiance of the continent at various levels. He added that CAN 2025, apart from the sports results, had a structural impact in enhancing the image of Moroccan and African football, highlighting that this event highlighted the Kingdom's ability to organize major events according to international standards, whether at the level of sports infrastructure, transportation, security, or logistical aspects. He continued that this organizational mastery enhances Morocco's credibility as a host country for major international sporting events. Belabbes also considered that this edition of the Africa Cup of Nations contributed to restoring the image of African football, by highlighting not only the quality of sports talents, but also the continent's capabilities in the areas of governance and organization. He pointed out that Morocco is thus consolidating its position as a reference actor, ready to share its expertise and accompany the path of developing African sports. On the other hand, the speaker indicated that Morocco's ranking among the top eight teams in the world is the fruit of years of continuous investments in modern infrastructure, the professionalism of sports structures, and the strengthening of training paths, supported by effective governance. The sports official concluded that this double success, both sporting and organizational, confirms that football in Morocco has become a strategic lever for international radiance, in the service of a broader ambition for development, cooperation, and continental presence.
