HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyoui
The Tilemly area, belonging to the Imilchil commune in the Midelt province, woke up this Sunday morning to significant snowfall that covered the highlands and neighboring areas with a white layer, in a winter scene that increased the beauty of the area and the harshness of its climate at the same time.
According to local data, the snowfall affected various mountainous villages in Tilemly, which led to a noticeable drop in temperatures, and difficulty in moving, especially on unpaved roads, which became slippery due to the accumulation of snow. In this context, a number of the region's residents expressed their fear of the repercussions of these weather conditions on the supply of basic materials, as well as on the schooling of students, calling on the competent authorities to take the necessary proactive measures, by opening roads, ensuring the supply of food, and strengthening intervention mechanisms in emergency situations. For its part, the local authorities and civil protection services continue to closely monitor the situation, with a call for caution, especially for road users, pending the improvement of weather conditions in the coming hours. These falls come within the framework of the cold wave that is affecting a number of areas of the High and Middle Atlas, which is considered positive at the level of the water table and vegetation, despite the daily challenges it imposes on the residents of the rural world and mountainous areas.
