A situation that opens the door to legitimate questions about the fate of the allocated budgets, the feasibility of the announced programs, and the limits of overlapping responsibilities between the interveners.
In contrast, the experiences of other cities have shown positive results in the field of urban planning, where the Fes Urban Development Company emerged as a successful model in the city of Fes, after its interventions contributed to improving the quality of roads, rehabilitating sidewalks, and modernizing public spaces, which restored the city's urban radiance. The company is also expected to begin its tasks in the coming days in the city of Meknes, to complete the rehabilitation programs within the framework of a new approach that has proven its effectiveness on the ground.
This data has led local activists and the residents of Sefrou to urgently demand to benefit from the same experience, considering that adopting a similar management model may constitute a real way out of the state of deterioration that the city is experiencing, and restore the infrastructure that has been outside the development priorities for years.
In this context, eyes are turning towards the governor of Sefrou province, amid questions about his readiness to take practical and bold steps that would stop the bleeding of neglect, and launch a real development dynamic that meets the expectations of citizens.
Voices are also rising demanding a royal visit to the city of Sefrou, in the hope that this gesture will constitute a strong impetus to address the developmental deficiencies, as was the case for other cities that witnessed qualitative transformations following similar royal visits.
The bet today remains hanging on linking responsibility to accountability, and translating promises into tangible projects, before the city's streets turn into a permanent source of danger, and Sefrou loses what remains of its urban and historical components.
