HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The House of Representatives, in a second reading, ratified a draft law on school education, in a new legislative step aimed at reorganizing the educational system and modernizing its legal framework, in line with societal transformations and the challenges facing the Moroccan school in the present and the future.
During the discussion of the project within the legislative institution, Mohamed Saad Barada, Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, affirmed that this legal arsenal seeks to establish a new Moroccan school in its functions, goals, and interactions, and in its educational model, highlighting that the desired reform goes beyond partial and circumstantial approaches towards a comprehensive vision that restores the school's basic roles in formation, upbringing, and social integration. The minister explained that the draft law does not just introduce renovations to the current Moroccan school, but constitutes a new contract between the nation and its school, making education a societal project and a common benefit, in service of a good school for all, which puts the learner and his development at the heart of its concerns, and establishes a reform path that links quality with equity and equal opportunities.
