The movement of strong waves witnessed by the beaches of the city of Mohammedia in recent days has raised the concerns of the residents living in the areas near the coast, in light of a noticeable rise in water levels and the strength of the accompanying winds, which brought back to the forefront safety concerns and the potential danger to lives and property.
A number of residents of the areas adjacent to the coast expressed their concern about the movement of the strong waves that exceeded their natural limits in the past days and reached the Corniche, which witnesses the influx of a number of visitors to the cafes and restaurants located there.
In this context, local activists and citizens called on the competent authorities to take the necessary measures to protect the residents, by placing barriers to prevent visitors from approaching the coastal strip during these periods, which witness a strong uproar of the sea, and doubling awareness of the dangers of approaching the beach during these weather conditions, stressing the importance of vigilance and coordination between the various stakeholders to ensure the safety of all.
