HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Aziz Akhannouch, the Head of Government, affirmed that King Mohammed VI emphasized in his message to the Skhirat Conference that sport is a basic right for all Moroccans, with a particular focus on enabling the population of vulnerable and deprived areas to access sports facilities and activities. This was during his intervention in the monthly session related to public policies in the House of Councilors.
Akhannouch explained that these royal directives reflect the state's strategic vision in making sport a tool for social justice and reducing spatial disparities, pointing out that public policies in the sports field aim to ensure equal opportunities and expand the base of beneficiaries to include all age and social groups, contributing to the enhancement of social integration. The Head of Government stressed that making sport a basic right requires continued investment in infrastructure, educational, and sports programs, to ensure that all citizens benefit, especially in areas suffering from deprivation, confirming that this approach enhances human development and makes sport a lever for upbringing, societal values, and a field for social cohesion.
