HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The discussion by the guests of the "Viral" program, broadcast by Medi 1 TV, of the peace council file, which US President Donald Trump recently announced its establishment to resolve conflicts worldwide, led to a wave of mockery on social media.
The guests, who are a group of content creators on social media and the "YouTube" platform, discussed the peace council file, to which Morocco was invited to join as a founding member, defending the kingdom's joining of this council with methods described by activists as "Facebook-like". In this context, Facebook activist Ashraf Boumékous said in his comment on the program that "political analysis has its own people, who have studied it for years, practiced it, wrote and contributed to it scientifically", demanding to "bring guests with scientific competence", instead of focusing on "the most widespread", at least in "scientific matters". Abdelaoui Ibrahim explained that what the channel did was "the height of triviality, buffoonery, empty chatter, and inverted science," according to his expression, while another named Bachiri Bachiri went on to say that the program's guests "talk about matters far from them," referring to the peace council file. For his part, another user named Mohamed Hamidouch said: “They brought a person who built his entire career relying on Wikipedia, to discuss politics and international relations on public television? Continue to belittle the media," while Said Azouzi pointed out that "a very important topic should be discussed by bringing political science professors, not YouTubers."
