HIBAPRESS – by M. Mahyaoui
Ifrane city experienced, during the last hours, a severe traffic congestion due to the large crowding of visitors, coinciding with the school holiday, and under difficult weather conditions characterized by the density of fog and strong winds, which complicated the movement process and weakened the clarity of vision on a number of road axes in the city.
According to what HIBAPRESS observed, traffic has become almost paralyzed in some vital points, especially with the influx of large numbers of cars coming from different cities, in the absence of traffic lights to regulate traffic, which increased the severity of traffic confusion and raised the level of danger. In this context, security men are experiencing great pressure as they try to organize traffic amid these exceptional circumstances, where they exert double efforts to ensure the safety of citizens and alleviate the severity of congestion, despite limited capabilities and the absence of basic organizational means. A number of local followers and actors demand that the concerned authorities urgently intervene in order to move the traffic lights file in Ifrane city, considering it an urgent necessity and not a luxury, especially during peak tourist periods and school holidays, in addition to the difficult climatic conditions that the city is experiencing. Improving the road infrastructure and strengthening road safety means remains an urgent priority to avoid the repetition of such scenes, ensure smooth traffic flow, and protect the lives of road users.
