HIBAPRESS – Sports
In a surprising move, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the imposition of sanctions on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the players Achraf Hakimi and Ismael Saibari, following the events of the African Cup final between Morocco and Senegal.
The Disciplinary Committee decided to suspend Achraf Hakimi for two matches, one of which is suspended for a year, while Ismael Saibari was suspended for three matches with a fine of $100,000 because of what CAF described as unsportsmanlike conduct. The committee also decided to fine the Royal Moroccan Football Federation $300,000 due to inappropriate behavior by ball collectors and the invasion of the VAR review area by players and members of the technical staff.
