HIBAPRESS – Tetouan
The Ministry of Transport and Logistics, in coordination with the competent technical authorities, announced the temporary closure of Sania Ramel Airport in Tetouan starting from today, Thursday, to ensure the safety of air navigation and guarantee safe operating conditions for the airport, and to enable the relevant departments to carry out the necessary technical works and interventions.
This decision came against the backdrop of the heavy rainfall that the region has experienced in the past few hours, and the data recorded by the technical devices that necessitate taking immediate precautionary measures, in full compliance with national and international standards for aviation safety. The ministry confirmed that the airport will be reopened immediately after the completion of the works and after ensuring that all safety conditions are met. The ministry called on passengers to contact airlines to find out the latest updates on flights, expressing its regret for any inconvenience that the closure may cause, and renewing its commitment to ensuring the safety of passengers and air crews, and thanked citizens for their understanding and support for efforts to improve airport infrastructure.
