The city of Ksar El Kebir is experiencing a concerning situation due to the significant rise in water levels, following floods in the Loukkos River and the complete filling of the Wadi al-Makhazin dam. This has led to the inundation of several neighborhoods and low-lying areas, trapping residents inside their homes.
In light of this development, Civil Protection elements have intervened on the ground, deploying inflatable boats to evacuate stranded families, particularly the elderly and children, from areas inaccessible by ordinary means of transport due to the spread of water in the streets and pathways. The local authorities continue to urge residents to exercise caution and leave homes threatened by flooding whenever necessary, while avoiding crossing roads affected by the floods. Efforts continue to ensure the safety of citizens until water levels recede.
