HIBAPRESS – Ifrane
A number of residents of the Al-Baqrit commune in Ifrane Province are complaining, via social media, especially the "Facebook" platform, about the deterioration of the infrastructure in the region, which is considered one of the mountainous areas known for harsh weather conditions and heavy snowfall during the winter.
Posts and circulating testimonies stated that the residents constantly suffer from a weak telephone network, where the "network" experiences frequent interruptions, which hinders daily communication and increases the isolation of the region, especially in emergency cases. The residents also expressed their dissatisfaction with the poor condition of the road infrastructure, as a number of roads remain unsuitable for car use, which makes daily travel to neighboring centers a difficult task, especially during periods of rain and snow, which exacerbates the suffering of students, patients and the population in general. Among the problems raised as well is the stoppage of the local market works, which started years ago without seeing its way to completion, which deprived the residents of an economic and social space that would have improved living conditions and revitalized commercial activity in the region. This situation raises many questions about the level of attention that the Al-Baqrit region receives from the concerned authorities, especially since the talk about it, according to the expression of a number of residents, only emerges during the periods of electoral entitlements, while practical and sustainable development solutions are absent. Faced with these constraints, the residents demand urgent intervention by the local and regional authorities to rehabilitate the infrastructure, improve communication services, and break the isolation of the region, which ensures dignity of life and enshrines the principle of spatial justice stipulated in the national development trends.
