HIBAPRESS – by A. Muhayawi
The Quality Hub in Meknes hosted yesterday, Thursday, January 29, 2026, the work of the ordinary general assembly of the Agricultural Chamber of the Fes-Meknes region, for the January session.
This session was chaired by Mustafa Al-Maisouri, the head of the Agricultural Chamber, in the presence of the regional director of agriculture, representatives of the local authorities, vice-presidents, and members of the chamber, in addition to the heads of regional departments. The meeting was an opportunity to assess the results of the work accomplished and to explore the prospects for the next stage. After confirming the completion of the legal quorum, and the opening of the session's proceedings with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, deliberations began in an atmosphere characterized by a spirit of consensus and harmony among the various components of the chamber, which reflected the strength of the professional relationship within the council, and the effectiveness of the participatory approach adopted in managing the affairs of the agricultural sector in the region. During the session, a detailed presentation was made on the chamber's achievements for the year 2025, where all items on the agenda were unanimously approved, in a clear indication of the confidence enjoyed by the governing body, and the collective engagement in serving the farmers' issues. The agenda included the approval of the minutes of the previous session, and the presentation of the annual report that reviewed the programs and activities accomplished, which were distinguished by a strong field presence and continuous interaction with the expectations of the farmers. The annual program and the chamber's budget for the year 2026 were also approved, ensuring the continuity of the open projects, in line with the directives of the governor of the region and the Minister of Agriculture, and in agreement with the heads of committees and members of the office. Issues related to the situation of farmers and livestock breeders received special attention during the discussion, where the Regional Directorate of Agriculture presented a presentation on the developments of the current agricultural season, and the general situation of the sector at the regional level. Measures and incentives to ensure the success of the agricultural season were addressed, in addition to discussing mechanisms for disbursing direct support for livestock breeders, within the framework of the national herd reconstitution program. The program for rescheduling the debts of livestock breeders was also considered, in partnership with the Credit Agricole du Maroc group, as a practical step to alleviate the financial burdens that weigh on professionals, an action that received a positive response from those present. The session concluded by confirming that the stability and cohesion that the Agricultural Chamber of the Fes-Meknes region is experiencing is due to an effective participatory approach, led by the head of the chamber, Mr. Mustafa Al-Maisouri, along with the members of the council, which strengthens the chamber's position as a key actor in defending the interests of farmers, and consolidates its role as a space for serious and responsible advocacy for the issues of the agricultural sector in the region.
