HIBAPRESS – MAP
The Ministry of Equipment and Water announced today, Saturday, that traffic is temporarily cut off on National Road No. 1 linking Souk El Arbaa and Ksar El Kebir at the southern entrance to the city of Ksar El Kebir, and Regional Road 410 linking Larache and Ksar El Kebir (dual carriageway) at the western entrance to the city of Ksar El Kebir.
The ministry explained in a statement that this interruption is the result of a rising water level in the Loukkos River, in addition to the filling of the Wad El Makhazine dam to its maximum capacity, which led to the flooding of part of the road surface. The same source pointed out that the direction can be diverted by heading directly to the city of Larache via the 5-A highway, then continuing via Regional Road 4402 between Larache and Rissana, and finally taking National Road No. 1 between Rissana and Ksar El Kebir, reaching the northern entrance to the city of Ksar El Kebir. It indicated that normal traffic will resume as soon as the water level drops, calling on road users to take caution and adhere to road signs to ensure their safety and security. The ministry confirmed that it remains at the disposal of citizens 24/24 hours to provide them with sufficient information about the condition of the roads and once again invites them to follow its news bulletins, which it announces continuously through its electronic portal (www.equipement.gov.ma) or to contact directly the center of the General Directorate of Roads on the telephone number (05.37.71.17.17).
