The city of Ksar El Kebir is experiencing an exceptional state of alert due to the floods resulting from the rise in the level of the Loukkos River and the complete filling of the Wadi al-Makhazin dam, with heavy rainfall expected in the coming days.
This situation has prompted the authorities to take precautionary measures, including the evacuation and monitoring of about 20 threatened neighborhoods, the encirclement of sensitive areas with iron barriers, in addition to restricting the movement of entry and exit from the city. The affected families have also been moved to temporary shelters and emergency tents have been set up, with free transportation provided to facilitate the departure of residents, within the framework of a comprehensive mobilization in which various security and civil protection agencies participated. The authorities continue to closely monitor the situation, calling on citizens to adhere to safety instructions, pending an improvement in the weather conditions.
