South Africa, through the Deputy Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Bese Mape, announced that the country will host the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations finals, replacing Morocco, approximately 60 days before the supposed start of the tournament.
The South African official explained in media statements that South Africa will replace Morocco in organizing the continental competition, without providing additional details regarding the reasons for this change or the organizational arrangements associated with it. In contrast, no official statement has been issued by the Moroccan authorities or the Confederation of African Football to officially confirm the transfer of the organization of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations from Morocco to South Africa, which leaves the circulating data within the framework of unofficial statements.
