Yesterday evening, in the Jamaat of Al-Hawafat, belonging to the Sidi Kacem province, the evacuation operations of citizens continued in a number of douars, within the framework of the maximum mobilization of the regional and local authorities, coinciding with the rise in the water level of the Sebou River.
The efforts of the local authorities were focused on implementing preventive and rapid evacuation operations for families residing in areas adjacent to the banks of the river, especially in the douars "Al-Humaidiyyin", "Ad-Dararisa", "Al-Azaib" and "As-Sahrawi", where residents were transported to safe and equipped areas. This operation witnessed intense field mobilization, in which elements of the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, Civil Protection, and auxiliary forces participated, in close coordination with the regional and local authorities, to frame the operations of transporting citizens and ensuring their smooth flow, while harnessing all the logistical capabilities and human resources necessary to ensure the safety of citizens and their property. According to the local authorities, in parallel with the evacuation measures, essential food aid will be distributed to the residents who were surrounded by water and caused the interruption of road routes leading to them, which are areas not directly threatened by flooding, but they suffer from isolation due to the rise in water levels. These efforts fall within the context of the large-scale emergency plan in the Sidi Kacem province, which aims to secure sensitive points and avoid the repercussions of the recent weather disturbances on the rural population and infrastructure. The regional and local authorities remain on high alert to monitor developments in the hydrological situation of the Sebou River, and to intervene immediately to provide the necessary support to the population whenever necessary.
