As part of precautionary measures aimed at protecting the lives of citizens and ensuring their safety, the local authorities, led by Al-Makren, supervised today, Monday, in coordination with the Royal Armed Forces, the Auxiliary Forces and Civil Protection, a proactive evacuation of the residents of Al-Wifaq cooperative (Dwar Al-Chouk), belonging to the Al-Makren community in the Kenitra province, due to the alarming rise in water levels in the neighboring valleys, which poses a direct threat to the population.
This operation is part of a comprehensive proactive plan aimed at avoiding any potential human losses, in light of the heavy rainfall that the region has been experiencing for days, and the resulting floods in a number of neighboring provinces. The evacuation operation witnessed an intensive field mobilization of various concerned parties, where the affected families were transported to safe places, with the provision of temporary accommodation conditions including basic equipment and humanitarian support, in an atmosphere characterized by high seriousness and close coordination between the various stakeholders. In this context, Abdelhamid Al-Maziid, the governor of Kenitra province, has been directly supervising the follow-up of the developments related to weather fluctuations and recorded floods since last Friday, where he remained on the scene to accompany the intervention operations and take urgent decisions to ensure the safety of citizens and protect their property. The local and regional authorities have called on the residents of the concerned areas to strictly adhere to the instructions and directives issued by them, and not to risk staying in the threatened areas, in order to avoid the repetition of cases recorded in some other provinces that contributed to complicating the rescue operations. The concerned authorities have confirmed that these preventive measures come within the framework of a proactive policy adopted by the authorities to address natural hazards, with the continuation of a state of alert and close monitoring of the field situation until the weather conditions improve and the water level stabilizes.
