IKEA has called on all customers who previously purchased a specific phone charger to stop using it due to safety reasons.
In this regard, IKEA has announced that all customers who have purchased the VARMFRONT portable battery charger, capacity 10400 mAh, E2038 (with production dates 2313, 2316, 2318 or 2319), or the VARMFRONT portable battery charger, capacity 5200 mAh, E2037 (with production dates 2318, 2319 or 2322), should immediately stop using it and contact any IKEA store to replace it or return it for a full refund.
The company said all its IKEA products undergo a rigorous assessment of all potential risks, as well as testing to ensure their durability and safety for daily use at home, in line with quality standards in all markets where IKEA operates.
However, the company has confirmed that some VARMFRONT portable battery chargers may overheat during use due to a manufacturing error, potentially becoming dangerous. Therefore, IKEA has decided to withdraw VARMFRONT portable battery chargers with the above-mentioned date marks.
IKEA has encouraged customers who have purchased one of these chargers to immediately stop using it, contact IKEA for a replacement with a safe product, or return it for a full refund.
At the same time, IKEA has confirmed that any VARMFRONT portable battery charger without any of the mentioned date marks is considered safe and is therefore not affected by this measure.
