Elements of the Urban Public Security Brigade in the first security district of Guéliz launched a security campaign targeting illegal motorcycle parking and occupation of sidewalks on public streets.
The security campaign, led by the head of the Urban Brigade in the first security district of Guéliz, resulted in the seizure of many motorcycles from in front of commercial markets and cafes, with violations issued against the motorcycle owners before being referred to the municipal impound.
The security campaign comes in response to citizens' demands to free sidewalks and pedestrian walkways, with the security authorities emphasizing the need to respect the laws regulating the parking of vehicles in public spaces. Warnings were also issued to a number of motorcycle owners regarding the need to comply with the laws in force to avoid penalties.
