HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
Local actors have launched an urgent appeal addressed to local authorities, headed by the governor of Al Hoceima province, for urgent intervention to save what can be saved in the Taghzout community, following the serious damage caused by torrential rains and dangerous landslides that the region witnessed in recent days.
According to the information obtained by HIBAPRESS, the heavy rainfall caused significant material losses, including damage to infrastructure and the disruption of a number of road routes, in addition to isolating a group of villages, which increased the suffering of the population and threatened their safety in light of the continuing climate fluctuations. Local sources confirmed that the situation calls for immediate intervention to open the damaged roads, assess the extent of the losses, and take the necessary measures to secure the movement of the population and ensure the arrival of aid, in addition to providing the necessary support to the families affected by this natural disaster. The interveners called for a comprehensive mobilization of the various concerned interests, in order to limit the repercussions of these damages, and to deal quickly and effectively with the situation, especially since a number of areas are still suffering from isolation and difficulty of access. In light of these exceptional circumstances, the residents of the Taghzout community expressed their urgent need for urgent intervention by the competent authorities, in order to preserve lives and property, and to avoid exacerbating the situation in the coming days.
