HIBAPRESS – A. Sayyad
The Moroccan actress Dounia Batma chooses not to participate in the long Ramadan drama works during the 2026 Ramadan season, in a different artistic step after years of strong and continuous presence in television productions that achieved high viewership rates and strongly established her name on the drama scene.
This choice comes within the framework of a studied approach aimed at reorganizing the artist's professional rhythm, and temporarily staying away from the intensive consumption of television presence, despite the multiple offers she received from different production companies.
In contrast, Dounia Batma is present during the Ramadan season with a light work in a different format, through a short comedic capsule entitled "Mahjouba and Tibaria", which brings her together with the actress Sahar Seddiki, in an experience that bets on pure humor and a fast pace.
In parallel, Batma is strengthening her presence in cinema, through her participation in a new feature film alongside the actor Aziz Dadas, directed by Ibrahim Al-Shakiri, and is expected to be screened soon in national cinemas.
She also continues, at the same time, her activity in the field of comedy shows through an artistic tour that includes a number of Moroccan cities, in addition to international stations.
This trend is not seen as a departure from the artistic scene, but rather as a phased choice aimed at rearranging the cards and returning with works that carry a new spirit and choices that are more in harmony with the artist's artistic path and her accumulated experience.
Regarding the new comedic work, the series "Mahjouba and Tibaria" constitutes an artistic extension of the experience of the series "Juj Wujuh", after working on developing the main characters and updating their artistic line, giving them a different and lighter character. Mourad Al-Khoudi supervises the direction of the series.
The series consists of 30 short episodes, each of which does not exceed seven minutes in length, in the form of comedic capsules, with the participation of a group of artistic names, including Sahar Seddiki, Tariq Al-Bukhari, Zuhair Zaer, in addition to the presence of guests of honor in various episodes, in a work that bets on diversifying faces and injecting new blood into the Ramadan comedy scene.
