HIBAPRESS – Chtouka
Several provinces in the Souss-Massa region have recently witnessed a noticeable increase in night robberies targeting commercial stores and money transfer agencies, raising concerns among affected traders and professionals.
According to consistent data, these robberies have affected the provinces of Chtouka Ait Baha, Taroudant, Inezgane Ait Melloul, Agadir, and Sidi Ifni, where similar operations have been recorded in terms of style and method of execution, which suggests the involvement of a single criminal entity behind these acts. The same data indicates that the perpetrators carry out their operations during the late hours of the night, using means and tools that enable them to break door locks or enter through windows, before seizing money and various goods, and then fleeing quickly from the scenes of the incidents without leaving clear traces. These robberies have resulted in varying material losses, especially for the owners of money transfer agencies and some traders, which has negatively impacted the sense of security and professional stability in a number of the affected areas. In light of the repetition of these incidents, a number of traders have expressed their fear of the continuation of these operations, demanding the strengthening of the security presence and the intensification of night patrols, as well as accelerating the pace of investigations to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice. The residents and professionals remain in anticipation of an effective intervention by the competent authorities in order to reduce these robberies, and to ensure the protection of property and enhance the sense of security, especially in light of the expansion of the areas in which these incidents have been recorded recently.
