Douar Oulasen, which belongs to the commune of Ounan in Chefchaouen province, witnessed a partial collapse affecting 13 houses, according to initial figures that warn of the danger of the humanitarian situation in the region. The affected families were forced to leave the douar in an emergency, in difficult circumstances, towards unknown destinations in search of safety and shelter.
This incident comes in the context of a worrying situation experienced by Chefchaouen province, where separate house collapses have been recorded in a number of douars, in addition to the interruption of road routes, the disruption of electricity and internet services, as well as the depletion of some basic materials, including food and gas cylinders.
Faced with this crisis situation, voices are rising demanding the declaration of a state of emergency in Chefchaouen province, with the aim of mobilizing all available resources for urgent intervention, ensuring the safety of the population, securing basic needs, accelerating relief operations, reopening roads, and breaking the isolation of the affected areas.
