The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports in Taounate extended the decision to suspend studies to include Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, February 9, 10, and 11, 2026, in all public and private educational institutions, preschool education units, as well as non-formal education centers throughout the region.
The Directorate clarified, in an official statement, that this decision came based on the warning bulletins issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology, and due to the ongoing weather disturbances experienced by the Taounate region during this period, and the accompanying potential risks associated with the condition of roads and mountain paths, in addition to the valleys and floods that may impede movement. The statement confirmed that the extension of the suspension of studies falls within the framework of implementing the directives of the regional alert cell, and in order to ensure the safety of students, as well as educational and administrative staff, with emphasis on monitoring the developments of the weather situation and taking appropriate decisions according to the latest developments.
