HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyawi
The Sidi El-Mekhfi community, belonging to the Ifrane province, witnessed heavy rainfall in recent days, causing significant damage to a reserve bridge in the area, raising concerns among the neighboring residents and road users, amid fears of the situation worsening if the weather fluctuations continue.
According to local data, the force of the floods and the rising water level led to the erosion of parts of the reserve bridge, which negatively affected its safety and function, creating a worrying situation for the neighboring residents, especially considering the importance of this bridge in facilitating movement and breaking the isolation of a number of villages. The residents expressed their fear that this damage would lead to a temporary or total road closure, or to potential accidents, calling on the concerned authorities to intervene urgently to inspect the situation and take the necessary measures, whether by reinforcing the reserve bridge or starting urgent repairs to ensure the safety of citizens and property. This situation comes in the context of climate fluctuations that many regions of the Kingdom are experiencing, which, according to observers, calls for strengthening vigilance and anticipation mechanisms, especially with regard to temporary or reserve infrastructure, which remains more vulnerable to damage during periods of heavy rainfall. Pending the response of the competent authorities, the local residents hope that this file will be dealt with with the necessary seriousness, to avoid any unforeseen developments, and to preserve the safety of road users and ensure the continuity of road connectivity in the area.
