King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to His Excellency António José Seguro, on the occasion of his election as President of the Portuguese Republic.
The King said in his message, "It gives me pleasure, following your election as President of the Portuguese Republic, to send Your Excellency my warmest congratulations and sincere wishes for your complete success in performing your lofty duties." The King added, "The distinguished bonds of friendship and good neighborliness that unite Morocco and Portugal, and that are characterized by historical and human depth, pave the way for broader and more ambitious prospects with regard to their joint cooperation." The King added, "In this regard, I would like to express to you the importance I attach to consolidating these bonds, looking forward to working together with Your Excellency to strengthen the efforts of our two countries to achieve a strong multi-dimensional partnership that benefits our two peoples and the Euro-Mediterranean space."
