HIBAPRESS – Marrakech: Mohamed Daher
Duar Al-Kaddia in the Gueliz district of Marrakech witnessed, shortly before this Wednesday evening, serious clashes between African citizens and young people from the neighborhood's residents, during which weapons, knives, and stone-throwing were used.
The incident alerted various security services in the Marrakech security directorate, where the anti-gang squad, motorcyclists, and elements of the 16th security district moved to the scene to control the situation and prevent the escalation of the clashes. The intervention resulted in the arrest of more than 40 people from both sides, on suspicion of their involvement in acts of violence, exchanging blows and injuries, displaying bladed weapons, and threatening public safety. The search operations also enabled the seizure of quantities of drugs and bladed weapons that were in the possession of the detainees. The detainees were also transported to the Marrakech security directorate to reveal the real reasons that led to the outbreak of these clashes and to determine the degree of involvement of each detainee.
