HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
In light of the silence of the municipal council and the slow pace of maintenance efforts, the youth of the Afzar neighborhood in Al Hoceima city have shown a living example of initiative and social responsibility. They have undertaken, using their simple resources and a spirit of initiative, to repair the streets of their neighborhood themselves, in a step that reflects their keenness to improve the urban environment in which they live.
This initiative is not just a limited technical act, but a clear message that confirms that civil society is capable of driving change even in the absence of official support. The participating youth expressed their sense of responsibility towards their neighborhood, stressing that solidarity and the spirit of initiative can achieve tangible results that benefit everyone. The experience of the Afzar neighborhood puts officials before their responsibilities and highlights the urgent need to support local initiatives and provide the necessary resources for them, so that the benefit is widespread and change becomes sustainable. This initiative deserves praise and encouragement; it is a model to be emulated for youth and civil society, and it confirms that will and collective action are capable of making a real difference in the lives of citizens.
